What we take on

Baptisia has been building web and web3 applications since 2021, from architecture to production: smart contracts, zero-knowledge systems, and the products around them.

Systems architecture
Deciding what a system should be before writing it: the storage, the trust boundaries and the failure modes. We have lived with those decisions across five years of our own systems, long enough to know which ones hold under load and which quietly cost you later. A new build starts from that rather than from a blank page.
Web applications, end to end
Interfaces, servers, databases, pipelines and the operational work that keeps them running. Browser extensions, admin consoles, real time notifications, content migration between platforms, and reporting several clients can read without seeing each other's data.
Smart contracts and zero knowledge systems
Escrow, identity, membership and reputation, built so a person can prove one thing about themselves without revealing everything about themselves. Contracts written, documented, tested, and in one case put through a full independent audit covering both the contracts and the proving circuits.
Research that changes the build
User studies, controlled comparisons, corpus analysis and regulatory mapping, written up so the reasoning survives the decision. We have run a controlled study on how anonymity changes a discussion, read years of consumer complaints to test a pricing assumption, and abandoned a premise we wanted to be true.
Applied AI
Language models inside real products since 2023: moderation, summarising long documents, critiquing them for second order effects, drafting assistance, sentiment, and agent runtimes that act rather than answer.

How an engagement runs

    Scope

    A short paid piece of work that ends in a written plan: what gets built, what it costs, what could go wrong, and what we would need from you. If the answer is that you should not build it, that is the deliverable, and we have reached that answer on our own projects more than once.

  2. 02

    Architecture

    The decisions that are expensive to reverse get made first and written down: the data model, the trust boundaries, and what lives on-chain and what does not. Everything after this is easier to change.

  3. 03

    Build

    Shipped in slices you can look at, not a reveal at the end. You see the same environment we do, and the thing goes to production early enough that going to production is boring.

  4. 04

    Hand over

    Documented, deployed and owned by you, with the deployment path in your hands rather than ours. We stay on for as long as that takes and no longer.

Ways to work together

Discovery

One to three weeks. We take an idea apart, test the parts that could sink it, and give you a plan you could hand to anyone. Where the question is commercial rather than technical, we go after that too: the wrong pricing assumption is more expensive than the wrong database.

You know the problem, not yet the shape of the solution

Build

A defined scope with a fixed shape and a working thing at the end. Design, development and deployment, from empty repository to production. Where a job needs a capability we do not hold in house, we bring in a partner and the accountability stays with us.

You know what you need and want it built properly

Embedded

We join an existing team for a stretch, on the parts nobody in-house has done before: cryptography, protocol design, the seam between a chain and a product.
